i'm at work right now, and it's the end of the night. i got a call from maisie maclean--born in 1933. she chatted me up for nearly a half hour! mind you, the average call time here is 120 seconds. some of the topics we (she) covered in our (her) conversation were her house being nearly broken into, her car accident, her health, her travelling to america in 1977, her being a teacher of nutrition, being married to a doctor, her neighbor who is 24 and has 2 kids, her getting up late this morning, what she eats for breakfast (muesli and yogurt), her children, her grandchildren, stories from when she was in year 2, and year 4, 9/11, how my supervisor must be telling me to get off the phone right now, how her mother was born in 1898 (!!), how there used to be a time when there were no seat belts, and so on and so on. I couldn't get a word in but I was perfectly content sitting there and listening to her speak. I felt it was bad karma to interrupt a 70+ year old lady who just wanted someone to listen for a bit. I only hope someone will take the time to hear me when i'm getting up there! i can just picture this adorable little old lady putzing around her house talking away. anyway, this little phone call made my day and at the end, good old maisie told me to keep her number and address for when we travel around the gold coast and she'll come pick us up at the airport! haha what a great woman! message for today---know that most people are good inside and just want someone to listen. also, i don't mean to preach, but respect your elders!

ooooooh my goodness, frustration! i'm actually attempting to upload the vlog here at work, because i use every outlet possible with internet to get the darn thing up. no good. it's been "uploading" for hours. time to do more troubleshooting. the world wide web is more than annoying sometimes.

at my first day of work! going well. it's nice--court and i are literally 20 feet away from each other!

we had a doubleheader today! we tied our first game and won our second!! yay for us!!!!! i'm doing another 3 days of training this week at the call centre, and officially start thursday. and court's got another week of work ahead of her! i'm headed to the library tomorrow, so cross your fingers that blogger is cooperating and the vlog will go up! be well!

well folks, i've been at the library for over 2 hours trying to upload the vlog. it just isn't working. so i can't make any promises as to when it'll be up, but one day, it will! for now, my posts of pictures and words will just have to do! man, i feel so much pressure with this little blog trying to get things up and keep a nice flow going. yet i don't even know who really follows it! anyway, i'm thinking of maybe doing like a little poetry corner or something. so i'll post later about that.

courtney and i saw Wicked last night!!! we lovedddd it! i've seen it before in Chicago, so i knew the story. but it was great, because i remembered everything in the first half, but then the second half i kind of forgot a lot, so it was a nice surprise. the actor who played Elphaba was fantastic! great voice. the one who played Glinda was great as well. her voice wasn't as strong, but her acting was fantastic. she was just super funny and expressive.

courtney's been at her new call centre job since monday, and she seems to be liking it so far. i'm done with swimming on monday and then i start the call centre on wednesday. i'm excited to finally be having a 9 to 5 job! took long enough. so we're very content right now!

court's going to our friends on saturday...aka free internet...aka look for the vlog then. sorry about the delay. it just takes forever to upload and would use up all of our internet if we did it here.

anyway, we hope everyone is doing great and enjoying the sprintime! it's autumn here!
